Scope of Nursing and Midwifery Practice

This means to the series of function, responsibilities, roles, and activities in which midwife or registered nurse is competent, educated and have authority to perform. Their main aim is to provide guidance to the nurses and midwives profession for good health care practices. The framework about the scope of nursing and midwifery practice was shaped in 2000 to help medical caretakers and maternity specialist in building their experts by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI). This NMBI had made changes and development in the health service and in nursing and midwifery roles. The changes in the system include the system of care provision, expansion of the scope of nursing and midwifery practice role and reforms in professional education.
